[Possibly Aexitrophocrinus? sp.?]
Over the past few years (I found my first crinoid in this formation
in the spring of 2004), I've found about 13 [at least partial] crinoids
in this formation. Eight of them appear to be members of either the same or
similar species or genus. Above are links to those eight specimens.
As the title of this page suggests, I think these crinoids may be of the genus
Aexitrophocrinus. Depending on the conclusions of the professionals once they
get a good look at these specimens, they may be either A. Formosus or A. Minuramulosus.
It is also entirely possible that they are a different genus altogether (i.e.
not Aexitrophocrinus at all).
The link 'Observe & Identify' opens a section in which I discuss some of the
issues I've encountered thus far in my endeavor to identify these eight specimens.
They are listed here in the order in which I found them.
