Trilobita
(early Pennsylvanian Kerber Formation)

As with other specimens on this site, I start out with a few shots of holding it in my hand.
In this first one, I've included a little pointer to help you zero in on where it actually is.

Now for the good stuff....
I took these shots through one lens of my friend, Kent's binocular microscope.

Whether it's my detail-oriented, systemizer (i.e. Simon Baron-Cohen's "The Essential Difference") brain-
type, or my eyes being a bit short-sighted, it's always interesting to me to hear other paleo pals wonder
out loud how I find stuff this small. As with other times out in the field, after checking out my previous
version of this web page, a good friend of mine (whom was sitting in the dirt, looking for fossils right
next to me when I found this one) recently said "That’s one amazingly small trilobite butt.
I STILL wonder how the hell you found it", and then made reference to "trilobuttglasses".
