Sandi, the Fossil Journey Cruiser:
a Boulder Sandstorm at Every Fork in the Road

Colorado FJs May Meeting (20080503)
We met at Stevinson Toyota in Aurora (~Alameda and Havana).

Stevinson provided food and drink for our meeting that day. What a treat. Thanks Stevinson.

Here are the beauties and beasts, all lined up in their parking lot.

TonysBlueFJ

Homemade skid plate.

Homemade bumper.

Here are a couple showing before and after of lifting robsp222 and BlueThunder

Rob's Sandstorm lifted sky-high.

Man! what a thing of beauty.
There's so much technology in these things that it's almost difficult to recognize this as the underside of a vehicle.

Here are a couple of the Stevinson tech guys and Rob checking out a few things.

I don't need no damn skid plates. They're for sissies.
Um, ya right.
Looking at how this thing protected Rob's Sandstorm last weekend on our Metberry Gulch run brings it home real quick.
I gotta get skids on Sandi.    Ouch!

Here's BlueThunder's rig. Very nice decal of mountains on the side.
I still say it looks more like the Grand Tetons (i.e. not Colorado mountains), but still, it's mountains. So, who cares.

Here's what really matters about this vehicle. They have a serious set of skid plates; going all the way back.

I was a bit disappointed that there really was no discussion of trail repairs, etc, but with this bunch of people,
it's kind of a mute point. Once we get together, it's all good.

I really enjoyed getting to see the underside of the FJ;
especially Rob's because I wanted to see how well that armor held up to the rock slide I saw it take last Sunday.

Thanks again to Jackie for coordinating this whole thing.
I look forward to the next time we all get together.

Of course, I had to take a few gratuitous shots of the Girls before we pulled out of there...click here to see.
