Sunday, July 18th, 2010 - Coal Bank, Red Mt. and Ouray

Today we went for a hike at Coal Bank, and scoped out some county roads on Red Mountain Pass.
After that, we sat for a bite to eat at O'Brien's Pub in Ouray, and got treated to music from one of the locals



First, we stopped at Molas Lake...





Then we headed South to Coal Bank Pass.
Here's Sandi parked at the trailhead.






This time, since it was already a bit stormy out, we knew we weren't really going to go all the way and summit Engineer,
but that's OK. It's so beautiful up there that we'd be OK just getting up to 'the intersection' every weekend if we could.

this is pretty much tied (with Yankee Boy Basin) for the most beautiful wildflower field I've ever seen
