Saturday, July 17th, 2010 - A Day in Yankee Boy Basin and an Evening in Ouray

Of course, we've been coming here for many years, but it can't hurt
...we never know what we may not have tried yet.
Earlier in the day, we met up with Alex up in Yankee Boy Basin.
He went up there to drop off his bicycle at the Mt. Sneffels trailhead.
His plan was to then drive over to the other side, hike and camp his way up there over the next couple days,
and ride back down through Ouray to his vehicle for a loop trip.
I gave him my contact info so he'd have someone in the area, just in case anything went bad-wrong.
We did end up making contact later and found that it all went well.
Oh, this is his FJC with the Alpenglow just starting to develop on the Amphitheater
It looked cool on some of the other surrounding rock faces as well
getting a little deeper on the Amphitheater
and finally, here's Sandi with the Alpenglow
